Why are some dolls priced differently?

Some Brenda Mize Dolls are priced a bit higher and this could be for one of the following reasons:

  1. their outfit took many more hours to create (and is usually a replica of a DOLLS Award of Excellence Award winner);

  2. their wig is either mohair or is a special more expensive wig;

  3. their outfit has been purchased from Boneka Traditions and the cost is considerably higher than if Brenda sews their outfit.

What size doll wig do Brenda Mize Dolls and Boneka Effner Dolls wear?

All 11-inch Brenda Mize Dolls wear a size 6-7 doll wig (the same size as Boneka Effner dolls).

How are Brenda Mize Doll wigs attached?

Each Brenda Mize dolls’ wig has a tiny bit of glue both in the center front of the doll’s head as well as the center back of the doll’s head. The wigs can be removed quite easily with care.

Do Brenda Mize Dolls have a silicone cap?

Each doll has a pate attached to the crown of her head (and not a silicone cap). Due to the nature of porcelain and because each doll is hand-strung, this is the most practical way.

Are Brenda Mize Dolls handmade?

Yes. Each porcelain doll is individually created and finished by Brenda Mize. The process includes pouring porcelain into molds, cleaning and preparing the greenware, kiln firing, sanding, painting and blushing, hand-painting the facial features, assembling and stringing the doll, attaching and styling the wig, and dressing and accessorizing the finished doll.

Are Brenda Mize Dolls limited editions?

Many Brenda Mize Dolls are One-of-a-Kind (OOAK), while others are created as part of very small limited editions. The individual product description will identify the edition when applicable. Because every face is individually hand-painted, even dolls within the same collection have their own unique characteristics.
